 Re: Battle.net forum changes
I just can't see how this is a good thing. People with unique or rare names are fooked as they can be tracked down to their comments. It seriously could affect jobs and things like that if you get google'd. If it was locked to 1 character on an account so that everyone in game knew who it was, then fine, but real name? No thanks Daft idea Blizzard....

 Re: Battle.net forum changes
I think the forum Idea is shockingly shit. How ever the Real ID in game is quite a good thing meaning cross sever chatting and not interrupting some game aspects its quite slick .

 Re: Battle.net forum changes
Good decision.
A bluff to get folk to behave? Knowing that at some point in the future they could have their real name against posts?

FFS it's a game!! Delusions of grandeur on behalf of Blizz imo. I've seen it all before in the early days of mobile. Time was when Vodafone/O2/Orange wanted people to access the net through THEIR walled gardens. It didn't work. Neither did this. Not the first time that corporations tried to get the "next" apple up the tree, before realising that enough is enough. Still...........saves my the bother of changing my name to Forename; Spart Surname: Acus Penis size; 2" .......off the fucking floor...............

 Re: Battle.net forum changes
Am I the only one who thought "Meh, it's up to them" for this? It might actually encourage the little fucktard 10 year olds on the forum to behave now that they have no anonimity

 Re: Battle.net forum changes
I agree it's good if there is something that locks a user down to one name or a consistent point of contact, but real name is open to a certain amount of abuse Getting somebodies name is one step away from finding out lots about them. I don't go for the stalker type issue, but identity theft is a problem to a greater or lesser extent, with employers maybe googling things you've said on a public forum Maybe I'm being too paranoid, but it's stuff i don't bandy about on any old forum - Jon ....err ...Kal
